Quick navigation is a keyboard-first way to jump to any page in Ceum. Press the period key (.) from anywhere outside a text field and an overlay opens; start typing a page name or path and pick a result. It draws on a static list of every navigable page, so new pages appear automatically as the app grows.
It is for moving between pages, not for finding records. To look up a specific client, task, or invoice, use Search instead.
Opening it
.(period) — open the overlay from any page, as long as you're not typing in a field.- Escape — close it without going anywhere.
The input focuses on its own, so you can start typing immediately.
What you can type
Matching works against both the page title and its path, and it's case-insensitive:
- Page name —
transactions,task statuses,calendar settings. - Path —
/settings/general, or justsettings general(spaces act as slashes). - Shorthand — a substring of any part of the path or title works, so
expsurfaces the export pages andimpthe import pages.
Results are ranked: exact matches first, then prefix matches, then matches on a single path segment, then anything containing what you typed. The closest match is highlighted and ready to go.
Navigating results
- Arrow down / up — move the highlight through the list.
- Enter — go to the highlighted page (or the top result if you haven't moved the highlight).
- Click — go straight to any result.
Not a replacement for search
Quick navigation only knows about fixed pages — list views, settings tabs, import and export screens, and so on. It never lists individual records. When you want a particular client, project, task, invoice, document, or transaction, reach for Search, which matches record content and IDs.
On mobile
The keyboard overlay is web-only. On the mobile app you move between sections with the bottom bar and edge-swipe panels instead — see Mobile navigation.
